A kind of accent furniture that let us showcase our natural and colorful potted plants and flowers is the Plant Stand. One good thing about plant stands is that they can be placed indoors and outdoors. It can be placed on every room and every corner of the house and garden. Different shapes and designs are also available for many plant stands. A lot of indoor plant stands have columnar designs with circular or square top and bottom tiers. These columnar designs often only have a single or double tier where the plant/s will be placed on so that there is room for the plants to grow. Corner plant stands are constructed with taller frames, therefore adding more tiers so more plants can be placed. Placing all kinds of different plants indoors should be given consideration. Plants essentially need water and sunlight. Which is why they should be placed near doors or windows as much as possible. Ways on how to be able to water the plants indoors without making the floorings dirty should also be given thought. What some people do to water their plants is by having to bring each pot outside, water it, then bring it back in, which can be somewhat tiring. What other people do to give water to the plants they put inside is to simply put rugs underneath each pot in each tier and just put an adequate amount of water wherein it will not overflow. And whatever excess water comes out from the pot will be absorbed by the rug. The reason why people put plants indoors is to incorporate a little bit of nature. Putting plants inside houses can also improve the circulation of oxygen people need. Plants also give color to every corner of the house and for a lot of people, plants indoors give them a calming and relaxing feeling. Plant stands serve as the plant's pedestal that showcase it more in an elaborate fashion just like a curio to a figurine collection. Outdoor plant stands are usually designed like long boxes or like troughs and some shelves or tiers cascade like stairs. Cascading plant stands are built not only to give more rooms to more plants, they also allow water to flow from the top down. Which will lessen the water being wasted. More elaborate plant stand designs are creatively shaped in more intricate forms without sacrificing adequate space for the plants. Some plant stands are made with 4 to 6 tiers of shelves and these 6-shelved plant stands almost look like spiral stairways. Designs like this is often called as Ivy motif plant stands. Other plant stands feature baskets instead shelves or tiers and the advantage on these kinds of plant stands is that pots have a more secure position because of each basket's concave shape. Different materials are used to make different plant stands. The usual materials span from metal and wood, to the rarely used glass and ceramics. Metal and wood are the commonly used materials in making garden plant stands. Metal plant stands are more sturdier and more durable than any other material. Iron plant stands are also well suited to be placed outside because of their rigidity. Painted plant stands should be coated with a strong type of paint to maintain luster and prevent rusting and chipping, especially if they'll be put outside. Other plant stands made from conventional materials like several types of wood such as oak.
