Alabama Foreclosure Homes Rise, but Still among the Lowest in the US

Data released by property tracking company RealtyTrac show that the volume of Alabama foreclosure homes rose slightly by 1% in October 2008 to 836 foreclosed homes compared to year ago figures. The increase was at 15.5% from September. That means a home is foreclosed in Alabama for every 2,524 homes. Alabama ranks as the 39th state with high foreclosure rates.

Market observers note that the state may have mounted double-digit growth in volume of foreclosures. However, total volume of Alabama foreclosure homes is still one of the lowest in the US. Foreclosed transactions mentioned involve default notices, bank repossessions and auction sale notices. Alabama’s foreclosure is still comparatively lower than the national average of a home foreclosed for every 452 homes.

The volume may be limited compared to those in other states like Nevada, Florida, California and Arizona but there is always a good portfolio for quality and high-end homes.
