This will help calm the nerves of the lungs and reduce the swelling in the respiratory tract.

Asthmatic patients are advised to stay away from known aggravator of their conditions. An example of an aggravator is the sodium benzoate, used in preserving margarine, dry fruits cool drinks and other sauces. These ingredients can cause the development of asthma and bronchitis.

Eating foods rich in magnesium and anti-oxidants will help prevent asthma attack in asthmatic patients. Magnesium containing food includes legumes, fish and pumpkins while anti-oxidants are common in green vegetables and fresh fruits.

Honey is a very effective ingredient in the treatment of asthma symptoms. You can decide to mix it with cinnamon powder or just add to hot water and take a dose before sleeping. Whichever you decide, don't be short of honey in your home if you are an asthma patient.

What you eat is known to either aggravate or reduce your asthmatic condition. There are series of foods that are good for you like honey, fresh fruits and vegetables, etc. The food you should avoid includes dairy products, food that has preservative additives and grains. They destroy resistance and make you susceptible to an attack.
