Forecast For Gas Prices This Summer

Experts on oil industry financials are forecasting a continued rise in gas and oil prices to rise above last month's records, due in part to the Fed’s stated objectives to continue lowering the interest rates. Lower rates tend to weaken the dollar. The reported minutes from the March 2008 meeting of the Federal Reserve, just released, indicated a split in opinion about the decision to cut the key federal funds rate by three-quarters of a percentage point, and clearly demonstrated much concern about the current state of the economy overall.
The unprecedented price per barrel of crude oil now has also driven diesel prices higher and higher. This past month the national average was within two cents of the record that was set the previous month
The increasing price of food is due, in part to the increased price of diesel which powers the world’s trucks which transport the food.
If one looks for causes of why the fuel prices are currently shooting up include;

Fuel prices always increase in the Spring months, traditionally . People drive more and the oil industry uses this as a reason to raise prices, claiming that the surpluses are being depleted more heavily.
