The oxidising agents penetrate the enamel and bleach the dentine . Tooth bleaching can be done in one of two ways. There is a fast and a slow process . Like anything in life each process has its good and bad points . Office bleach process is the fast method. It means applying a highly concentrated oxidising agent on your teeth for a short period of time . This gives fast answers but can also burn the soft tissues encompassing your teeth . Take home or over the counter bleaching process is the slow method . This process involves applying a thin mouth guard or strip to hold a low concentration of oxidising agent next to the teeth for as long as several hours per day for a period of five to 14 days to whiten teeth. The risks affiliated with this process is a lot less than the office bleach method . Recent technology is being evolved all the time and one of the cutting-edge is the use of light to accelerate the bleaching process. Light technology is still in the early stages and its effectiveness is inconclusive . Whichever, procedure you utilise for teeth whitening, you will see a spectacular improvement in the appearance of your teeth and showing a gorgeous smile.
