Floor installers gain large levels of new customers from friends that pass on their phone number, and seal of approval to friends, and acquaintances. Do you need a price estimate for a new wooden floor? Sure. Getting those kinds of phone calls are good for the business.
Sometimes a previous customer may call with a question or a complaint. You may see signs of cracks, cupping or buckling on a floor that when first installed seemed so perfect.
That was a list of the changes that a floor commonly undergoes due to moisture. They don't help the customer or the industry of hardwood flooring. When the humidity is low, solid wood flooring will generally tend to contract. during the winter, sometimes leaving noticeable cracks between boards, or else expand during periods
of high humidity. To help minimize these effects, users can stabilize the environment of the building through temperature and humidity control.
This is a guide to understanding what happens when water comes into wood and how to deal with the ensuing problems. Knowing the areas of possible moisture issues and doing what you need to do to prevent them, will make for a serviceable floor. Fortunately, many of the instances that involve moisture can be mitigated before, during or soon after installation.
A well-performing wood floor is often the result of an installer taking the proper time and care
necessary for a successful installation. Consisting of experience in:
-what is the reasonable moisture exposure the wood material will experience after acclimation in a defined area?;
-what is the level of moisture in the flooring at the initial installation?;
-plus the usage differentiations expectations.
Wood behaves a lot of different ways when it is installed or during the machining process mostly because of moisture.
Installers must know moisture’s effect on wood and wooden floors.
