Hosting a party for Easter

If your having a small gathering or large party around March, why not theme it into the Easter festive spirit? Because there is so much associated with this time of year it is easy to celebrate this day with a bit of fun too.

Start with your Easter invitations. These can be anything from cut out cardboard Easter shapes with the information written on, to hand delivered plastic eggs filled with mini treats as well as the details of the party arrangements. Either way, hand made is always an extra touch to show your guests the amount of effort you have put into the occasion and encouraging them to attend.

Party decoration is going to be the most exciting thing to arrange and with Easter the ideas are endless. Table mats in the shape of Easter eggs, bright yellow daffodils in the centre or single in each placement, Easter egg lights surrounding the buffet area, carrots and bunnies in different forms around the place, mini eggs and Cadburys cream selections and colours themed with blue, yellow and pink are just some of the ideas that can be incorporated into your party.

Party supplies obviously need to be purchased way before the party date and this includes decoration, food and various other party products. This way any frozen food can be easily defrosted in preparation and the party can be properly planned without any feeling of rush or hassle.

For food it may be nice to go for snacks and nibbles rather than full meals as this day is normally predicted to be a little hotter than usual and large amounts of food will be wasted if guests would prefer to pick at a buffet. Small fairy cakes with mini eggs as decoration or flowery icing may be a nice touch and snacks such as sausage rolls and egg rolls are always among the favourites at these types of occasions.

If children are around (or silly adults) you could incorporate games into the party for an extra bit of fun. Games like pin the tail on the rabbit, name famous rabbits and whoever can name the most wins an egg, or you could even hold a huge Easter egg hunt or you could go with a healthy option of daffodils for the little ones.
