In these challenging times, one needs to be creative - creative in the sense that you must be able to find ways to cut back on expenses. There are a lot of ways to this. You just have to be creative and innovative. For instance, I found a way to cut back on my expenses from buying print postcards. You see, I regularly send postcards to loved ones and relatives to make them feel that someone out there still cares and remembers them. I do this the whole year round so you can just imagine the amount of money I put into buying expensive, pre-made postcards. One day, I decided to create my own postcards. With my computer and printer, I was able to design and print postcards from my very own home. Before you begin your project, be sure that you have the following: a printer that can print on card stock, scissors or paper cutter, Word Processing Software, pens or pencils. With these simple supplies, you are now ready to begin postcard printing from home. Follow these simple steps to create your very own print postcard: Step 1: From your Word Processing software, create a new document with the size 6 inches by 4 inches. This is the normal postcard size. Step 2: Now that you have created the document, you can now go ahead with designing the postcard. When you design you print postcards, always remember the purpose why you are sending this card. Try to visualize your recipient and then design something for them. A lot of people often make the mistake of designing something for themselves and not for the intended recipient. If you are quite inexperienced, some software programs have postcard templates. These postcard templates are easy to use and you will just have to add images or text to a pre-designed template. Add clip-arts, photos and text to the blank screen. Experiment with colors and shapes. Let your imagination run wild. Step 3: Postcard printing. When you are ready to print, check the settings on your printer so that it can print on the usually thicker than usual bond paper. Step 4: Add your message and address line on the blank side of postcard. It would be helpful if you have an old postcard with you so you can see the standard postcard format. Usually, there is a line in the center of the card and on the left side is your message. The rights side is reserved for the recipients name and address. That’s it! With just four easy steps, you have created for yourself an inexpensive, original, professional postcard from your home.
