When planning a wedding, the bride to be is more often than not the busiest person. This is because she will be expected to take part in the planning of the wedding most probably from A to Z. Women are more willing to do this than men because of their attention towards details nature. Planning a wedding can be both exciting and stressful. You can the sense of fulfillment as you are involved in making your wedding event a success. It can be stressful as there are so many details that need your attention and creating a dream wedding means nothing can be spared. With all the details that need taking care of, planning a wedding is never easy. The wedding event can be divided into two part and they are the wedding ceremony and the reception. It is common for couples to have the wedding ceremony and the wedding reception in the same place. This is because, it saves a lot in terms of decor and it is also practical for the guests. Wedding Ceremony Planning The Venue and Time Before anything else, the first thing you have to determine is the venue and then time. Wedding venues can be indoor or outdoor. It can also be in the city or out in the province. Having decided that it is going to be an indoor wedding, you’ll have to decide whether it will be in a hotel function room or a traditional church wedding. Similarly, an outdoor wedding will also need to choose your desired place like the beach or a garden. Where ever it is that you choose, you need to make sure that it is accessible to the guests. Then, decide on the time. Will your wedding be in the morning, afternoon or evening? When deciding on venue and time; you need to think about your guests. Will it be accessible to the majority of the quests you invited and will they be available to attend the wedding during the chosen time. Venue Decorations Regardless if you are going to have an indoor wedding in a church or an outdoor wedding by the seaside, wedding venue decorations are essential to keep the spirit alive and romantic. Flower arrangements will always be present. Popular wedding flowers are daisies, roses, calla lilies and tulips. If you are on a budget and want to be sure that the flowers will look fresh and alive for a long time, go for silk wedding flowers. Make your walk down the aisle stylish and dramatic by having an aisle runner. It’s your choice if you want to keep it simple or personalized. Another decoration that should not go missing is the wedding arch. It’s very symbolic for it speaks of your union with your spouse. Dress the arch with flowers, tulle and ribbons to create the perfect frame for taking your wedding pictures. Lastly, decorate the church pews or chairs with bows, ribbons and tulle. You don’t want your guests to seat on boring monobloc plastic chairs. Wedding Ceremony Accessories Wedding accessories and supplies are some items that can be tailored to suit the wedding theme. One of the most important is the wedding unity candles. These special candles signifies the husband and wife lighting each other’s lives and it also is the mark of a new beginning of sharing one life for the couple. Although there are couples who opt to skip lighting the unity candles during their wedding ceremony, it still is very much practiced among today’s couples. Other wedding accessories that one should take note of are the ring pillow, guest book and flower girl basket. Visitors and Invitations Do you want to invite everybody in town or do you want to keep the wedding intimate with only family and several close friends around? Of course, you have to consider your allotted budget because you wouldn’t want to starve your guests or make them dissatisfied with the food you will serve. Once the number is all figured out, think of the wedding invitations that will best reflect the wedding theme and your personality. Then send them all out! Wedding Reception Planning The next phase of the event after the ceremony is of course the reception. This is when your guests and you will get to celebrate and enjoy the event. You must plan it well so that it turns in fantastic event and a welcoming one so your guests can enjoy themselves while chatting and catching up with acquaintances. Food and Drinks Serve delightfully satisfying food. Have a tried and tested caterer. Discuss with your caterer the food items that you want to have. Don’t forget your vegetarian guests, have something for them too. Ask your caterer if there are food items that are best to serve with the kind of wedding theme you have. Provide alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks for all your guests and make sure you don’t run out of them. Music Make your choices of music diverse. By doing this, you are sure to tackle all your guests as they will comprise of many people with different taste in music. Decide on whether you want to have a DJ or a band. Wedding Cake Wow your guests with the wedding cake design and what is on top of it. Instead of the traditional porcelain figurines, have the elegant monogram cake topper. Have your initials on top of the cake using acrylic. You may have exhausted yourself thinking about all that you have to prepare after reading this article but believe me this is just some of the things you need to take care of. Don’t worry though because really, most of the time everything will turn out OK in the end and you shouldn’t be all tired and sad, see it as something enjoyable and you will only get one chance at planning a wedding; fingers crossed!
