With the current fashion of hi-resolution images and the tendency to race megapixels, modern digital cameras require higher density storage media to keep reasonable numbers of shots on a single card. However, higher density does not always mean higher reliability. Weather conditions, static electricity and bugs in cameras' firmware can render the entire memory card unreadable, and all pictures shot on it lost in a blink of an eye. But don't panic! Recovering pictures you've shot, including RAW files, is easier than one might think. Tools exist that allow complete recovery of every picture and RAW file you've shot in a matter of minutes. But first and foremost, remember: don't do anything to the corrupted memory card such as formatting it in-camera and continuing shooting. If you do, no software will help you rescue your images.
