Your angry tendencies can be tamed through relaxation techniques such as yoga. Yoga can help to balance your emotions and help you bring your anger under strict control. The next time you get angry, try breathing in and out several times and see if that doesn’t help you. It has proved very effective in anger management for many people. It will for you too. Anger has a ripple effect because it doesn’t affect you alone. You may affect your kids or your spouse negatively if you don’t learn how to keep your anger in check. The fact of the matter is that unless you learn effective anger management techniques, neither you nor your children are safe from the harmful effects of anger. You may be angry all the time because you feel frustrated. You can learn to control anger by going to the root of the matter that is causing any feeling of frustration. When you are successful at identifying and taking care of what frustrates you, you will discover that you get angry less often. While keeping quite is an excellent way of dealing with anger, it can also be bad when taken to the extreme. You can control anger by keeping silent in the face of negative stimulation especially if you have the tendency to be verbally abusive. However, this is not a license for you not to be expressive at all; the essence of keeping quite is for you to be calm enough to express yourself positively. You can easily take control over your anger by adopting a philosophical outlook in life. When you are tempted to get angry, ask yourself, does this situation warrant my anger? Try and be logical and philosophical about your reaction. That away you will be able to rein in any unnecessary outburst of anger. If you are fond of using the word ‘you’ when communicating your anger, then you have not accepted your own share of responsibility in the entire process. Maturity is displayed in an anger situation when you use the word ‘I’. Using ‘I’ indicates that you are aware of your own contribution to the problem on ground. Accepting responsibility can go a long way to help you in your anger management attempts. You should bear in mind that anger is a highly volatile emotion that can create a lot of havoc if it isn’t controlled. If you have the tendency to be abusive for instance when you are angry, chances are people don’t like to be around you that much. You can loose friends and families over the matter of unrestrained anger. A problem that is ripped in the bud can prevent a backlash of unpleasant consequences. Always keep a close eye on yourself and people around you to identity any emotion of negative anger in order to address it immediately. That’s effective anger management.
