lants If you are relatively new to owning a potted plant, it is important to know that your plant will require regular fertilization. There are two reasons for this: first, potted plants are in their young growing stages and need more nutrients. Potted plants also are dealing with a more limited, less renewed and rejuvenated soil Do not let this fact scare you away from potted plants, however: fertilization can actually be quite easy. You can find exactly what you need packaged and ready to go at your local gardening store (many home improvement stores and some super centers also have a gardening section). Check any how-to explanations carefully, since every brand or type of fertilizer is a little bit different. Many fertilizers are simply added to water before you water your plant. This is a great solution because it allows you to take care of two steps in one in regards to caring for your plant. Winter Décor Though each season is fun to decorate for, winter decorations seem to hold a special place in everyone’s hearts. When designing with winter décor, remember the climate changes that are taking place and how those climate changes are affecting plants and greenery. The most basic elements that exist in winter decor, or winter decorations, are pine trees, firs, branches of trees, or very unique flowers that thrive on a winter environment. Inevitably your winter decorations will involve Christmas colors and elements, including wreaths and garlands. You can use many of these items, with small changes or embellishments, throughout the winter season. Cleaning is Just as Essential When people venture into the world of interior decorating, it is usually with just one goal in life: to make their home look more attractive. Of course, finding time to do all we need to do is a big issue. When we talk about beautifying our houses, we often think about changing our décor. However, finding ways to keep our house cleaner is just as critical to having an improved home. One simple way to efficiently keep your house clean is to put a list of chores together that includes tasks needing to be done a few times a year. Then, rather than having to dedicate a whole day or week to these chores, take twenty or thirty minutes a couple days each month and take care of them. Another way to keep your house clean with less time and effort is to use job charts, motivational rewards, or other methods to get the whole family involved in cleaning. Having everyone do a little bit is much easier than trying to do everything yourself. One more tip is to use labels wherever it is convenient. Knowing where everything is, or goes, not only keeps things organized longer, it also keeps you from wasting time looking for things. Sprucing up Your Work Area Sometimes, the walls of your office can feel too much like a penitentiary. Day in and day out, employees will come in and sit down in front of square walls and a computer monitor. Can you see the creativity being squelched? However, with a few simple steps, you can transform your environment into something much more welcoming and inspiring. Adding a large tree to your office instantly adds detail, life, and color. Many offices have put in silk trees because most of their conference rooms or offices do not have natural lighting available. Adding a small fountain gives the ambiance of running water, which will compliment any other greenery you add to your workplace. These improvements make it much more enjoyable to spend the day in your office.
