More about MTNL Services

The new third generation mobile from MTNL is all set
to arrive in the market. A test service in Delhi will show whether this mobile
is ready for the market. The company has plans of launching the product from
Connaught Place. The advantages of the new MTNL mobile are innumerable. The new
mobile has the options of video streaming and the customers can also have the
option of high speed data transfer facility.

The company has already successfully completed the indoor
trails of the mobile. After 3G mobile will be launched, the company plans to
install some 7, 50,000 GSM lines in two of the leading metropolises—Mumbai and
Delhi. After the successful completion of the trail period, the mobiles will
enter the market within a few days. Delhi will find priority over Mumbai as
Mumbaikers will have to wait for another year to buy the 3G mobile.  The
Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited or MTNL as it is popularly known among the
customers will reduce the tariff for broadband upto 50%.

A.K. Arora, the executive director of MTNL attributes this
decision of reducing the tariff to the popularity of the broadband connection of
MTNL among the users in Delhi. Now more and more people can avail the broadband
services of MTNL without any difficulty. Apart from the 3G mobile services, MTNL
is all ready to launch the mobile TV services. They can avail this option
through Trump and Dolphin mobile services. This service will be exclusively
provided to the customers who stay in Delhi and the adjacent areas of the
national capital.

Now the MTNL users can view 20 channels through the mobile
TV services. They have to pay a monthly subscription of Rs 99 for this service.
Apart from Delhi MTNL is largely popular among residents of Thane, Mumbai and
Navi Mumbai. The live TV service will be exclusively available to the Delhi
users. All those who subscribe to the Unlimited Plan can avail of these services
in their mobiles. In this plan, the subscribers have the options of GPRS enabled
handsets. The customers can initially view seven channels. Among the seven
channels five are free and you have to pay only Rs 50 each month per channel. If
you want to watch live TV, you must have a GPRS connection which should be
supported by Symbian operating system or OS. The capacity of the phone memory
