Comfortable living on a low income. Don't believe me? Then you haven't been to the right locations. If you live in the USA or Japan you'll know how high the cost of living is and $1,000 does not pay for very much. But that's an distorted situation. Living on planet earth does not require a big income. In most countries a thousand dollars a month is sufficient and not just at subsistence level. For some inspiration about which countries this applies to take a look at http://www.27ways.ca/country_list.htm It's a complete listing of the countries of the world. Although there are obviously some which aren't suitable, you'll see that the choice of possible retirement destinations locations is huge. By making a list of the items you need to pay for every month at home and then repeating the same for other countries you will see how it is that I'm telling you that you don't need much money to live well. I did this for a comparison between living in London, UK or relocating in San Miguel Allende, Mexico. Adding together accommodation, food, transport, entertainment the cost of living in London is 11 times more expensive San Miguel. Not only that, but most people would say that the quality of life there is better too. So why struggle to make enough to live in a country that is too expensive? Even on a low income by western standards you have many alternative choices. See my article http://www.27ways.ca/why_work_retire_now.htm
