Wedding Flower Décor Weddings are one of the most beautiful and exciting events in anyone’s lifetime. One of the best ways to add beauty to the wedding is to add flowers. In many weddings, it seems that almost everyone has a flower. The bridesmaids and women of the family have corsages; the best man, father of the bride, and groom usually have boutonnieres; most important of all is the bride’s bouquet. Garlands, shrubbery, centerpieces, vases, trellises and many more places often use flowers as adornments. With such a great responsibility as coordinating the wedding flower decorations, you will need to break the process up into manageable stages. Color, type of flower, and arrangement design are the three most important elements to consider with flowers (and it often helps to make those decisions in that order). Often, the bride will have already chosen the colors she wants to have at her ceremony. When it comes to choosing which types of flowers will be used, the bride may have some strong preferences there. Roses are a very traditional choice. The most difficult decision is often with how the flowers are arranged, because there are so many choices. The best way is often to stick to two or three “looks” and apply them to all the decorations you use. With a little planning and practice, anyone can do a great job with wedding flowers Tips for Seasonal Décor There are a few ideas you may want to think about as you decorate for each season of the year. Choose a few spaces that you will decorate seasonally, and use year-round decorations for other areas in the house. This way, clean-up needs and clutter are both cut down. You can have a particular shelf with seasonal knickknacks, or a calendar display with thematic elements. If you have young children at home, a cute way to decorate with durable, non-dangerous materials is to choose a stuffed animal and change what it wears with each month or season. One way to save money and space is to reuse what you have. Sometimes what may be considered as a very season-specific decoration can be adjusted to fit other seasons as well. One of the best examples is exchanging your wreath from one season to another by removing the flowers and replacing them with new flowers appropriate for that season. The Elegant Maple Tree One of the most beloved trees is the breathtaking maple tree. Part of the reason why maple trees are so renowned is because they have a beautiful leaf pattern (in part made internationally recognizable by the Canadian flag). The leaf’s design makes it uniquely identifiable. It is amazing how well the look of the leaves is reproduced in silk maple trees. Silk maple trees are very dense compared to other silk trees. This helps the tree look lush and healthy, although those leaves will need to be dusted Since cleaning the leaves of the silk tree realistically usually only happens once or twice a year, one should not judge this to be too much of a bad thing. The Pros and Cons for Live and Artificial Plants One of the first questions that you must resolve when decorating with plants is whether you want them to be real or artificial. There are some great pros and cons to each option. Plenty of sunshine and regular watering are necessities for real greenery that you will need to be able to provide. Also, bugs are sometimes drawn to live plants. An advantage to live plants is the green thumb you develop as you care for them and watch them grow. If you are planning to change your greenery based on the seasons, if you like to move furniture and decorations around a lot, or if you yourself may be moving at some point, you will find it easy to store and move silk plants. If you decide to go with silk plants, judge carefully how realistic they seem. Many silk plants and flowers are rendered so perfectly that observers cannot tell their authenticity without touching them. The “clearly fake” look can be quite unattractive.
