Now that the recession has taken hold of practically every country in the world, is your job safe? Is there still a demand for your skill or time? Will the company you are working for float through this poor time? Are they looking after you? For most people, the answers will be no to all of the above and who hasn't worked for an organization who didn't look after their staff? I know I have, but that was a long time ago before I became the boss of my life. Many people who have spent their working lives working for other people are, understandably, worried about making that leap from puppet to puppeteer. Leaping from tick tock to freedom where you can do what you want, when you want and dictate your own hours and income. However, there is nothing to be frightened of. You see, being worried and not having the confidence to work for yourself is all in your mind. There is no one telling you you cannot do it, there is no law to say you cannot do it, there are no restrictions at all. The only restriction is your mind telling you that you can't do it - or maybe your financial situation is holding you back. The reality is that you can do it and you should do it. You can be in control of your own life and your own destiny. Spend more time with your loved ones and doing the things you love. No more setting the alarm clock for Monday mornings, spending hours commuting to your work place, spending the day doing something you hate and then commuting back home again to arrive late in the evening. Repeat 5 times a week - or even 6 days for some of you. Now, I don't know about you, but that doesn't sound much of a life. Sure you have a salary each month and a couple of week’s holiday each year, but that’s it. Now compare the life of being your own boss: Get up when you like in the morning, go for a walk in the sun, swim in the sea or bike ride or whatever. Then you have a lazy breakfast and switch on the PC to check your emails and stats etc. You work a couple or 3 hours before lunch. Have a lazy lunch in the garden and then back to work for a few more hours, finishing early to spend time with your family. Holiday when you like anytime in the year and finances allowing, buy the things you like, take up the sports you like, play golf on the odd afternoon or work the hours you choose to give you the income that is comfortable with you. Maybe you prefer to work late at night and keep most of the day free - you can do that if you choose. Now, I'm not saying it's all like this. For some it isn't, especially at first when you are setting up your business. However, once you have established yourself and the money starts to roll in, then the choices become yours and not someone else’s. You can do or be whoever you choose to be, if you just make that first leap. I am not saying either, that you should have lazy days as the more you put in, the more you will get out. What I do want to emphasis is that you can do it if you choose to. Unless you have a particular skill or knowledge the people want and will pay for, I wouldn't necessarily suggest you pack up your job tomorrow and decide what to do next. However, what I would suggest it that by taking tiny steps now, you can build a profitable business before resigning and starting your new life. An ideal starting point to your life of freedom would be niche Internet Marketing. It is ideal for those of you who have a particular skill or knowledge that you can sell to others and start building your empire. This business is completely flexible in terms of hours working, easy to learn, can be very financially rewarding depending on how much work you do and also hitting the right niche. Above all, you become your own boss, doing something you are good at or love doing. But don't follow the crowd - it's a busy place. Be you and stand out from the sheep mentality. Promote your niche and then find another similar niche, and then another and another. Soon you will have numerous niche websites working for you 24 hours a day, funding the life you deserve. Before, you rush off to the internet and see what is available to you. A word of warning. There has always been a lot of get rich quick schemes out there that you need to stay clear of, especially now in this recession. So, please do not get sucked in to promises of earning thousands of dollars a day with this or that by working 30 minutes a day you will bring in a 7 figure income per year. These do not work and it is widely known they are just to get your money. Tread carefully, spend a little, be realistic and do your research to see what suits you and who you can trust. The bottom line is, you won't get rich quick, you have to work at it over time. Persevere and you could be living the life of your dreams.
