Natural Reasons for Infertility and Some Suggested Solutions

By: Keith Tennent

Infertility has become a big problem with women in the modern world. It is at the root of many other disorders and diseases. But, the good news is that unless you have a mechanical problem with your body, you can get pregnant the natural way.

Generally, if you are trying to get pregnant try to stay as healthy as possible, because this will affect your overall health and increase your chances of getting pregnant. Actually, staying healthy is more important when trying to conceive. Poor health is one of the major causes of infertility as well as a poor mental state. So shape up as much in your life as you can, including your diet and lifestyle choices.

Making good lifestyle choices can increase fertility. All it takes is to eat healthy food on a daily basis and include a daily regimen of exercise. Healthy food includes eating a lot of fruit and vegetables, dairy and protein products. A balanced and nutritious diet is essential to build more energy in the body and to make your reproductive system function properly.

Make sure you get a minimum of half hour exercise three times a week. This is absolutely necessary for maintaining optimum weight and a certain level of energy. If you are trying to get pregnant, you must do some cardiovascular exercise that will help keep blood circulation flowing properly, which will give a boost to your reproductive system. Cardiovascular exercise increases regular ovulation and helps in the production of hormones.

Strength training is not only beneficial for reducing excess fat and building bone density but it is useful in correcting your hormone levels that may have been obstructing the process of conception. It has been seen that when both partners lose weight, a pregnancy occurs.

Give up smoking and drinking if you want to get pregnant. Many women think that they will stop smoking after the baby is born; they don't know that smoking can adversely affect their chances of becoming pregnant. An occasional drink is not harmful but heavy drinking and smoking can cause problems.

If you are getting older, you may be having problems conceiving because of your age. If you do conceive, you may also be at an increased risk for having a baby with birth defects. At the same time, if you generally lead a well balanced lifestyle and are healthy, you will improve your chances of becoming pregnant even if you're a bit older.

In vitro fertilisation, conventional medicine's most prescribed remedy for infertility problems, is expensive, dangerous, and has a success rate of only 14%, yet few of the one in six couples that experience infertility are aware of the effectiveness and safety provided by the wide range of alternative treatments.

The alternative treatments are actually nothing more than common sense and natural ways to improve physical and mental health. They include a balanced diet, exercise, and relaxation techniques and alternate therapies.
