Pinhole glasses are different from ordinary eye glasses, containing tiny holes in an opaque metal or plastic surface, ideal for persons with short and long sight vision problems. Wearing these glasses provides an excellent perception of external objects since only the middle portion of the eye gathers more light-rays that hinder the bending of light rays, allowing vision which is much better than through spectacles or contact lens. The major effect for a vision impaired person is that pinhole eyeglasses allow them to see straight pictures instead of arched images on the sides. Pinhole glasses input light rays through tiny holes called pinholes, leading to reduction in brightness and better clarity since the limited and pointed light allows the wearer to avoid seeing the bending of light-rays near the sides of the glasses. The curvature of light rays is responsible for most eye-sight related problems like short and long sights, blurred vision and eye-focusing errors for the young and old. Some precautions to be followed while wearing pinhole glasses are that they moderate light intensity and hence people must avoid them while driving vehicles and for vocations requiring better eyesight. People with short sight requiring six or more diopters of lens must avoid wearing pinhole glasses. Pinhole eyeglasses are highly beneficial to consumers in the following manner. They allow people with eyesight defects to watch television programs clearly. People have no necessity to constantly change glasses with greater power. pinhole glasses are economical, scratch-proof and require no cleaning. People with eye diseases or surgery generally must avoid intense and dazzling lights. To them, pinhole glasses are a miracle. Cataract frequently affects elderly people who get better vision wearing these glasses. The pinhole glasses are effective in reduction of eye-stress while working in computers or exposing yourself to bright sunlight. Pinhole glasses are ideal to wear when a person is idle, studying, drawing, writing, viewing television programs, movies or computer, etc. It is difficult for some people to adjust to pinhole glasses immediately on wearing it.
