Race base beliefs in Numerology

Well, if you check the definition, Numerology is any of many systems, traditions or beliefs in a mystical or esoteric relationship between numbers and physical objects or living things. The following article would discuss whether various races or ethnics would treat numbers in the same way or would have same belief in numerology.

Numerologist derives life and vital number from DOB/name by reducing a number or word by a process known as digit summing, then reach conclusions based on the single digit that is produced.Digit summing, as the name implies, involves taking the sum of all of the digits in a number, and repeating the process as necessary until a single-digit answer is produced. For a word, the values corresponding to each letter's place in the alphabet (e.g., A=1, B=2, through Z=26) are summed. Some astrologers believe that each number from 0 to 9 is ruled by a celestial body in our solar system.

Numbers in Chinese community is very much related to their pronunciation. In short, I would say (Pronunciation = Beliefs)..Yeap! Chinese believes that each and every number has its own meaning from the way they pronounce it for example number 4..They always consider this number as unlucky since the pronunciation of 4 is (SI ) which is death or suffering. As a result of that Chinese would not prefer number 4 for any reason. They fear it will bring a bad luck or misfortune throughout their life..

In contrary to number 4, Chinese would prefer number 8, because from the way they pronounce, it has the meaning of sudden fortune, prosperity..Of course most of the Chinese would like to have 8 as their good luck number for whatever they buy or do especially in business.

I would say the above would not affect anyone other than Chinese as they do not understand the language itself..I guess its rather a race/ethnic base beliefs..Even in Chinese community itself, there are many ethnics like Hokkien, Cantonese and etc.Different people pronounce the same number in a different way. However not every Chinese in favor of this beliefs.

Whilst, in English, the number "4" sounds "for" which to me can be a short for "forward". In this case, it is good as it can mean moving "forward"
instead of backward. It can also mean driving "forward" or looking "forward" to all the good things under the Sun, Moon and Stars. Lastly, "for" can also mean living

Whilst Indian wouldn't like number 8...According to Indian astrologer/ numerologist, 8 would not be the favorable number to many indian as compared to Chinese community ( Chinese numerology)..Indian would avoid anything with number 8...Indian would not look at the way the number is pronounced but rather reach to a conclusions based on the characteristics it has..

I would agree that people would be paranoid with any numbers that has bad characteristics..Its human nature...but for those live their life in gods way, would not have such a feeling..They tend to use that as guidance only. Hope the above would have explained your queries accordingly..
