Know your products better than anyone. There can be no miscommunication when it comes to this matter. Whether you are using this sales technique over the phone or in person, there is no excuse for lack of product knowledge.

The telephone can still be a useful tool in sales, but telephone sales techniques must be perfected in order to make sales a reality. Be wise with your sales techniques, and phone sales can be lucrative for all.
