In the last 5 years or so, the auto hauling industry has changed for the worse. With all the new, up and coming "freight haulers" and "freigt Brokers" looking to make a fast buck, on the auto hauling industries good reputation. The HORROR stories are all over the world-wide-web and they are from all over the world. The fact of the matter is that those of you who have been hauling vehicles for countless years, the TRUE PROFESSIONALS, are now getting lumped into that bad reputation box. To the shipping public who has been looking for the 'Cheap way" to ship their cars; the old saying is true, "You will get what you paid for". If it does not matter what happens to your car, then by all means, ship your vehicles by Cheap'o auto transport or (aka) Cheap'o car brokers. Now, you need to understand that because "Cheap'o" can offer such a great rate, that there are some things they won't offer, that the true PROFESSIONAL Transporters do. Things like INSURANCE, you know, in case your car gets damaged, LOST, or even stolen; the REQUIRED lLICENSES, that keep the shipping public safe; most importantly the EXPERIENCE, to assure safe shipment of your vehicle; and CERTIFICATION in the auto hauling industry. I can go on and on about what you will get from a Professional Certified Carrier or Broker that you won't get from the "Cheap'o" brokers or carriers out there. When you use "Cheap'o" Truck Brokers, who often hide the fact that they do not own any trucks or even how to operate one if they did, they will take your deposit, and then when they can't fullfill the agreement they will point you to the NO Refund clause. In early 2008, the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF VEHICLE TRANSPORTERS was formed by a group of business owners who shipped vehicles internationaly and domesticly; only 2 out of 10 of there vehicles were delivered without any problems. When these business leaders started to research the auto transport industry they were amazed at what they found. First of all, the auto hauling industry is a very specialized trade. It is NOT an industry that you just get into. The drivers pack 7 to 10 cars in a very small space; it takes many years of training, experieance, and knowledge. You need to think about how this is done. Every year new models of vehicles come out, and every vehicle has it's very own way of being secured to the transport trailer as designed by the manufacturer. Should you not know the correct way to secure each vehicle to the trailers, as the mfg designed it to be done, then the damage can be catastrophic.....can you say BENT FRAME.....and even worse. Now, lets not forget "Cheap'o" just how safe do you feel.......... When the IAVT was formed, these business leaders decided to help the industry and shipping public alike. To act as a clearing house; to help the true professional auto transport carriers and brokers by bringing "standards" to an indusrty that was without standards. Before IAVT, it was hit or miss by the shipping public if they got a professional carrier or broker, now through IAVT they can rest assured they are contacting truly Professional, Reputable Carriers and/or Brokers. If the shipping public still wants to ship there car by the Cheap'o price then again it is there choice and THEY have to live with that choice.
