Snoopy’s Reunion for Peanuts Fans

Snoopys Reunion aired originally on CBS on May 1, 1991. It was one of the prime time specials that was animated and was part of the popular comic strip series of the Peanuts. Charles M. Schulz, of course is the infamous creator of Snoopy. In this special, the beloved beagle is homesick and misses his days of being a puppy at the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm. Charlie Brown and the dog decide to organize a reunion of some of the pups siblings such as Andy, Olaf, Spike, Belle, Molly, Rover, and Marbles.

Back at the puppy farm, when they arrive, Charlie Brown finds that a parking garage has gone up where the farm used to stand. Even though urbanization has come to the little former farm, Snoopys reunion is still a big success, and the family of dogs begins to dance and play their funny little musical instruments that they each had brought with them. It becomes apparent that they are happy enough to be standing together on the sidewalk in front of the parking garage.

Although many people have never heard of the puppy siblings, five of them appeared at one point or another at different times in the Peanuts comic strips. This is the second time that the character Lila has been made reference to, the first time being in Snoopy Come Home. Molly and Rover were created for the Snoopys Reunion special. Charles Schulz didnt ever consider material from the TV specials to be coinciding with the world that was featured in the comic strips, so even though there have been times when siblings were mentioned, Molly and Rover were never named.

The previous film titled Snoopy Come Home had many aspects that were mentioned in it that were rewritten for this reunion television special. For example, Charlie Brown says to Linus that during his childhood, another kid poured a big bucket full of sand over his head. It was the next day after that when Charlie Browns parents took him to the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm to buy his best little friend, Snoopy. In the movie, Linus telephones the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm to find out all about Snoopy. He learns about the connection with Lila.

In Snoopys Reunion, Linus goes with Charlie Brown when he goes to the puppy farm. They had seen an ad in the local newspaper. When they were there at the Daisy Hill Puppy Farm, it was Linus who happened to see Snoopys records lying out on a desk that was there. It is then that we see that Snoopy had an owner before Charlie Brown, which was someone named Lila. Snoopys Reunion is a popular favorite for Peanuts fans everywhere.
