Stress is very dangerous to people's health. Though it is only rarely a direct cause of death, its side effects (such as heart attacks) can cause death. While stress is known to be a top one problem for modern societies, it is extremely difficult to get rid of, as the specific reasons of stress are different depending on an individual. For now, this dangerous condition has no simple cure. The most popular reasons of stress are work problems, family crises, death of a family member or a friend, divorce, diet and health problems themselves. Wherever it comes form, stress can overcome us very quickly and cause untold harm to both our psyche and body. We aren't defenseless, but we have to know what to do to cope with the stress if we are to react accordingly. You can begin from changing your diet by introducing more fruit and vegetables into your meals. They contain enough natural sugars and vitamins to make you feel better and refreshed. Junk food on the other hand will make you feel down if you eat them regularly for a long time, especially if you eat meals on the run. Try to spend at least 30 minutes at the table while eating - this will help you relax and increase your stress resistance. You should also take part in some regular physical activity - jogging, tai-chi or aerobics to name a few examples. Physical activity does not only help you burn the calories and reduce your weight, but also make you feel better due to increased secretion of endorphins. Also, the toxins that build up in one's body during the stress are washed out during physical exercises. Then, there are also several different kinds of medications available for people suffering from long-term stress. These are not always prescription pills - most of the time all you need is some vitamins and microelements to make up for those lost during the period of stress. They help people stay in good shape even during long-term stress, which is crucial for overcoming the stress. Friends and family, however, are two most important factors when it comes to coping with stress. In order to get rid of stress you need help and support of others, so don't push them away! Only with their assistance you can hope to eliminate problems causing you so much unwanted stress.
