Teenagers in present’s world face insurmountable subjects. To embark, a teenager goes through puberty, which may last for years. Problems at home and school could add much stress to a teen’s life. Schoolwork, homework, sports, dating, and friendships every one of may add up to a illustrious deal of issues that need to be dealt with on a daily basis. Added to the mixture for many is the presence of drugs, alcohol, smoking, violence, and sex. With every one of this and more to deal with, many teenagers display a couple of rough years growing up.
Peer pressure is when a group of folk, or even just one or two friends, are trying to make individuals do something to ‘fit in.’ Pressure from peers could range from trying a drug, to stealing, to having sexual intercourse. Teenagers may not be mature enough to be able to say no to something they don’t yearn to do. They may go along with a bad idea just so they are accepted and fit into the group they want to please. Peer pressure starts at a young age and can continue into adulthood. Unfortunately, as teenagers typically need to fit in with their friends, they may make bad choices in trying to do so.
Another issue that teenagers demonstrate always faced is the desire to fit in, yet express their individuality. As a young person grows, they are moulded by their parent’s beliefs and lifestyle. They might show grown up living a certain form, being a particular religion, even eating a certain sort of food. When the teenage years hit, better teens will enter to require to break out of their parents mould. They will try to pinpoint their own personality and create their individuality. This may signify adorning a certain convention, hanging out with a certain group, or changing their religion. Greater times, an expression of individuality may be perfectly harmless, but it is important to keep a close watch on anything that gets too extreme.
The old help for dealing with bullies used to be to simply strike back at them. Because they are mostly cowards, they tend not to take that reaction very well and leave their prey alone. Boys will notice a change in their voice as it deepens, and will also open to grow more facial hair, as well as grow taller. With the onslaught of hormones rushing through a teenager’s body at puberty, this could be a difficult time indeed.
Teenagers show multitudinous problems to deal with while their teen years. These should never be taken lightly. With the onset of puberty, bullying, peer pressure, and trying to become their own individual, the teenage years could be rough. Parents should always offer an ear to listen to any complaints and worries of their teens. Those who might not encounter comfortable talking to a parent may pinpoint comfort in a school counsellor, teacher, coach, or clergyman.
