A logo is the image which portraits a organization and its product. Logo function is to establish a memorable impression on the heads of a future clients or customers. The logo graphic is pretty much at the heart of a business identity. What can you call a great logo design? Most of the public would answer "I just know it when I see it!" and this isn't so far from the truth. A great corporate identity design catches the eye, it makes the eye engaged, if only for a short moment. There are 3 basic types of logos, which can be used alone or combined within one design. Illustrative logos (A logo design which clearly illustrates what your business provides) Graphic logos (Logo that has a graphic, often an abstraction, of what your business provdies) Font based logos (Text which represents your business) Some design firms prefer to develop logos using fonts. Experimenting with font family, size, shapes they look to find a powerful way to represent the company using the form of letters. Simplicity is super important, this is not the time to use fancy decorative photo filters. Whether alone or combined with illustrative graphics, the text in a logo design must be easily readable at far. Designing a corporate identity is always a step process, though different logo designers have their own ways. Many designers will begin by sketching thumbnails or playing with shapes on the computer screen, until it "CLICKS" and they follow that path to see where it leads. One way to start is to select a object which represents the concept of the company, and begin playing with it. The idea is to come up with something interesting or clever, whether a viewpoint which is different, or an unusual combination of shapes. Perhaps it will be something which will require some guesswork on the part of the viewer, but clear when they look at it another way.
