There are many reasons why people like traveling on a Caribbean cruise vacation and that is not just because they like the notion of going on just a cruise ship which in itself is a vacation before you even set foot on any land. No there is in fact a whole more to the Caribbean than the trip on the cruise liner. So what are the more appealing locations to go and visit when you disembark. Well, this really depends on the package that you select but here is a selection of some of the more popular ports of call which most cruise liners include in their route Jamaica - biggest island in the Greater Antilles as well as the largest English speaking island in the Caribbean. Tropical island with hot and humid weather with the famous Blue Mountains in the interior and a coast with dazzling white beaches. Each year many visitors head for Jamaica by every mode of transport including cruise ships but mostly by aeroplane. Montego Bay is a well known resort that is famous and attracts holiday makers all over the world with its beautiful big white beaches and many other distractions, not to mention the fact that this is where reggae music was born. Yucatan Peninsula - part of Mexico this is one of the best of the non islands stop overs. It boasts busy beaches and a plethora of fun for all the family. Cancun is celebrated for its electric nightlife but if it is the underwater activities that you are really interested in, then Cozumel is the place to explore. Virgin Islands: Group of small islands divided between between the US and United Kingdom, the Virgin Islands are one of the highlights of anyone's Caribbean cruise vacation. On the one hand the US side gives plenty of scope if you covet underwater activities, while the British Virgin Islands give out an excellent on land encounter due to its British charm. The ABC islands - or the islands of Aruba, Bonair and Curacao..These are furthermore known as the dutch Antilles just off the coast of Venezuela. Aruba's beaches are famous as the paradise of the Caribbean. Curacao character lies in the architecture of the houses which are very dutch in appearance. There are many other islands not mentioned like Bermuda, Cuba, Cayman Islands, St Lucia, Dominican Republic and so on. All are also very beautiful places that are included depending on what Caribbean cruise vacation package you choose. Information for those places and what they offer can easily be found surfing the web or asking a travel agent. One thing that should be said is that the best way that you can enjoy a Caribbean vacation, is not limit yourself to just visiting the beaches and obvious tourist attractions, but to also go and see areas outside the resort to get a real feel of what the life and culture of the Caribbean is like. That is probably what really will make your Caribbean cruise vacation the best experience ever.
