As we think of sexy. Two women come to mind, Mae West and Marilyn Monroe. Sex symbols were around for as long as we can remember. There clothing and there lingerie in the mind of the people are not just underwear, but sexy colorful pieces of clothing.
The Lingerie industry has been around for many years. Back in the days when horse drawn wagon was the way of transportation women still held a sexual hold over men. From a saloon bar girl to the fancy Rancher or bankers wife there attire was important.
Mae West as remembered for her Brassy ways and her bawdy entendres. This goes back to her mother Matilda known by friend and family as “Tillie” which was a Corset and fashion model. Mae’s mother encouraged Mae to pursue her career in performance. A mother who thought whatever her daughter did was fantastic.
Her first role on Broadway was a play she wrote called Sex which was raided . She and the cast was arrested and prosecuted on morel charges, but was able to wear her silk underpants instead of scratchy jail clothing. Lingerie was important even back then.
She played many movies and has been known as a sex symbol .So when you think of sexy lingerie Mae West comes to mind as a woman people remember through the years.
Marilyn Monroe was also known as a sex symbol. She started out as a model before acting. She has been known to be criticized for her choice of clothing during events.
We all have a little bit of Marilyn and Mae in us when we think about lingerie or sexy undergarments. Both women had what it takes to make any lingerie special.
