There was a time when Hollywood evaded comic book materials like the outbreak. With average interpretations of classic characters such as the Punisher, Captain America, and even the Fantastic Four – the last two being worse that they wind up as direct-to-video releases – Hollywood has grasped the notion that comic properties do not order a following that is big enough to ensure a hit. In 2000, a comic book-adapted flick changed such an opinion. Bryan Singer got comic book’s number one franchise, the X-Men, and made a great flick out of the same. The result is a trilogy that raked in billions of dollars in earning. The X-Men movies are largely recognized as the movies that opened the gates of Hollywood for highly successful superhero flicks that followed – Spider-Man, Blade, Daredevil, the two Fantastic Four movies, and even the remake of Batman and the come back of Superman to the big screen. The X-Men trilogy, nevertheless, has finished its run. However, followers should not be anxious as Marvel Comics and 20th Century Fox are planning a sequence of movies centering on the origins of the mutants we have grown to like. First of these flicks is X-Men Origins: Wolverine, scheduled for a May 1, 2009 release. Hugh Jackman will reprise his role as the titular persona, even if, the movie will be set some 17 years before the occurrences of the first X-men film. X-Men Origins: Wolverine tells the narrative of Logan’s discovery of his mutant powers, his addition to the Weapon X program, his dealings with William Stryker, and his falling out with the said institution. X-Men Origins: Wolverine will feature a slew of additional mutants straight from the comic book series, like the motor mouth assassin, Dead Pool – portrayed by the highly-recognized Ryan Reynolds – and the furious Cajun, Gambit – played by Taylor Kitsch. Sabretooth, of course, will perform a crucial part in the movie, being a core personality in the Wolverine saga. One of the highlights of the movie is the surprise that the Weapon X code doesn’t stand for the letter X, but, it refers to the number “ten,” with Wolverine being the tenth government project made for mass destruction. The finale of X-Men Origins will position Wolverine against the new edition of the program, Weapon XI. It’s will be slobber knocker!
